Nice. Have you had any other Trappists? Big fan of St. Bernardus ABT 12

Abt 12 and Three Philosophers are also good quads.

I haven’t, this is the only one my local liquor store gets with any regularity. I’ve been meaning to try more, I’ll keep that one in mind

LA Trappe is on my list of beers to try but I haven’t got there yet. I’ll make sure the Quad happens soon!

I took the tour at Cantillon last weekend. The Geueze and Framboise Lambic are great.

St. Bernadus is tasty. It’s supposedly the same recipe and brewing methods as Westvleteren but is commercially available (other than visiting the brewery.)

Ahhh Trappist Quad. When you just want to drink four beers at once. These are nice.

Really? I didn’t know that. Westy is widely considered the holy grail of beer due to it’s limited availability. Trappist beer in general is just really good.

One of my absolute favourites. Well, this and Cantillon Gueuze (the one Katzmandu mentioned).

Kind of awkward to love a Dutch beer, me being Belgian...

Had a couple tonight with a friend. Amazing beer. I think I’d like the blonde more, but the one has a real kick. Have you had leffe? It’s similar and is my absolute fave.

Kinja'd!!!

Cheers for the recco!

Ooooh. I’ve heard of it a few times from our cousins across the pond but I don’t think I’ve ever come across it in the U.K. yet.

Strange. It’s relatively widely available in Australia. Only at the bigger liquor stores that have a huge range, but it’s not uncommon at those.

I never heard of it when living in Holland either.

Though I mostly drank Guinness Export where ever I could get hold of it.

There was a Dutch beer I liked called Grolsch Herfst Bok (Autumn Buck) and only produced in the autumn and sold in Holland and northern Belgium as far as I’m aware and it was pure nectar.

I keep asking people I know who are going to Holland for a holiday or traveling through to get some for me, but so far they either forgot or say they forgot.

I’m going to have a crack at finding that one. I’ve been recommended Grolsch swingtop though I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, though I imagine it’s not of the same league at all.

Good luck mate.

It won an award this year.

A very impressive beer.

Generally Grolsch like many European similar types of product I find too gassy and make me want to pee.

Ambers I tend to find too zesty.

Dark beers and ales, porters and stouts are where I’m at.

I’m keen on the dark beers too because I’m a true man’s man. But German beers are where my heart really lies.

Hi fella.

I’m okay with some German beers. I love Warsteiner.

But on the whole German beer doesn’t do it for me.

I’m the same with TV, music, etc... I’m not tied to a specific genre but a bit of each. I’m happy to listen to French music from Louane to classic music such as Elgars, Nimrod.

I’m a proud Cummerlan but there are some local beers I just can’t stand like Jennings Cumberland Ale which is an English pale ale.

I haven’t even heard of Warsteiner! I don’t even know what you’re saying anymore! Local beers here are hit and miss - some really over do it. Especially on the bitterness.

Lol.

Warsteiner is a fantastic beer. Nice flavour, nice body, etc... lightly chilled is a great after work relaxing drink.

Brief but precise video. Lol.

There are so many beers around the world it’s hard to keep up with all of them.

So many beers are hit and miss, but boy is it good fun finding out which is which.

Nice one.

I’ve got beers I fall back on for when I want to relax rather than have a taste session.

Guinness Original XX.

Guinness Draught.

Guinness Golden ale.

Guinness Hop House 13.

Guinness Export.

Newcastle brown ale.

Old Peculiar ale.

Bombardier ale.

Marstons Pedigree.

Iron Maiden Trooper.

John Smiths Golden ale.

Old Speckled Hen.

Warsteiner.

Most of those I’ve not heard of, and I had no idea there were so many Guiness beers. Sounds like you’ve got your preferences down pat, I salute you sir.

I think your really missing out. Some of those are absolute heaven.

Guinness have been doing The Guinness Project for a couple of years now. Going back through brewers note from over the years and making them with a slightly modern twist.

The best is the Guinness Original XX, which is the Guinness any drinker would know from before 1970 being made since 1821.

I’ve been drinking since I was 13 or 14 (I’m British after all, Lol). At 37, I’ve 23-4 years under my belt.

I’ve been drinkign since I was 13 or 14 (I’m Australian after all, Lol), but I only got onto beer in the last 18 months and it’s dragging me deeper and deeper. I will try some of your favourites there, but my list keeps growing and I can’t guarantee it will be soon!

Lol. It must be in the blood.

I got into Guinness itself when I was 14 at a party.

Every time I put my drink down I would come back and it’d either be empty or gone. Towards the end of the night we ran out of beer. I found some of my friend’s Guinness under the sink in the kitchen and grabbed one. I didn’t like it but found that I could put it down and no one would drink it and so Guinness became my drink.

I found early on in my 20s that lagers would just make me gassy, pee a lot and just didn’t taste nice. IPA and dark beers had flavour, texture and nothing like a lager.

Just try a few here and there when you see them on offer really.

But most important, enjoy yourself.
